Referee Betting Scandal
Reports stated by the FBI had said that the NBA's referee Tim Donhagy had been betting on games during the last 2 seasons that he refereed in. Also he had been making false calls affecting the point spread in those games. He was found guilty and charged with two federal charges. Donhagy could have been charged with more because of the deliberately miscalles in individual games.
Marion Jone's Scandal
A woman known as Marion Lois Jones was a former world champion track and field champion. She has won 5 medals at the 200 summer oympics but after finding out she used steriods all got taken away. She was first accused of taken steroids before and lied about it. On October 5 2007 she was found guilty by BALCO steroid investigation in the U.S district court. On January 11 2008 she was sentence to jail for 6 months which started on March 7 2008.

Boston Marathon Scandal
A woman named Rosie Ruiz was found cheating during the Boston marathon race. She cheated by signing up for the race then later jumped in from the crowd and sprinted to the finish. People started to figure she cheated when she was missing at the starting of the race and didn't appear on videotape footage. Also some people in the crowd had seen her run into the race in the last mile. Ruiz time was 2:31:56 which was different because it was 25 minutes better than her time 6 months before in the New York City Marathon.

Rutgers Scandal 08
Rutgers winning by 1 with Tennessee having the ball they missed a couple shots and at 0.2 seconds the clock stopped. After it stopped a foul was called on Tennessee and they made both shots. Which gives Tennessee leading by 1 Rutgers having the ball at 0.2 inbounds with the clock still stop the game was officially over. Tgave Tennessee the win beacuse the clock had stopped and ran out before the foul was called.

Rutger's Scandal 07
On April 4 2007 a radio host named Don Imus calls the Rutgers Women's basketball team nappy-headed hoes during a convosation about the NCAA Woman's Basketball Championship. This put everyone at shocked and the Rutgers team wondering why he would call them that. Imus apeared on Al Sharpton's radio talk show and telling Imus that these were racist and sexist comments. Also that Imus should be fired while Imus responded by this show was to be funny and they did go to far.This was racism and sexism because they were black and were woman. He apoligized to the public and Rutger's woman basketball team but also lost his job for saying what he had said.

Patriots Scandal
The New England Patriots are being blamed for tape recording other football games and studying them before they play the team. Which could be a reason for why they won their first super bowl against the Rams. People started to notice these things when the coah of the Jets Mangini pointed it out to. After the NFL found this to be true, they fined Belichick $500,000, the most you can be fined, and docked the team $250,000 and a first-round draft pick. This was the biggest fine for a coach and the first time in NFL history a first-round draft pick was not allowed.
